Laura Honey was recognized with the Life Membership Award in the New England Inns & Resorts Association.
The award is given to active members of the association for a minimum of 10 years and have retired from the inn-keeping business.
Honey, of Boothbay, worked for Fisherman’s Wharf Inn in Boothbay Harbor for 50 seasons before retiring in 2014.
Eileen Skinner was recently recognized with the 2016 Women of Distinction Award.
Skinner is president and chief executive officer of Mercy Health System of Maine. The award is given annually to a woman who exemplifies accomplishment, leadership, community involvement and is a role model for girls and young women.
Ed Leveque, former owner of Twin City business and a SCORE volunteer-emeritus, was recognized for his decades of public service by the U.S. Small Business Administration.
Leveque was presented with a certificate of appreciation for his 33 years of volunteer service to the Lewiston-Auburn small business community. He owned Jimmy’s Gas stations and diners, eventually operating 11 gas stations, a heating oil storage and delivery service, and two diners, including the landmark Jimmy’s Diner on Minot Avenue in Auburn. Leveque sold the business in 1981, and began his long career as a SCORE volunteer in 1982.
Jane Lafleur, executive director of Friends of Midcoast Maine and The Community Institute, received the Professional Planner of the Year Award from the Northern New England Chapter of the American Planning Association and from the Maine Association of Planners.
Lafleur was recognized for her 35 years of professional work in community planning and her service to the profession.
Portland wealth management firm R. M. Davis was ranked No. 5 nationally in Bloomberg Markets Top 50 list of registered investment advisers.
R. M. Davis was rated higher than any other firm in New England at $2.8 billion in assets under management and a 25 percent change year over year from June 3, 2013.
Van Perry, a representative for Modern Woodmen of America, attained the Fraternal Insurance Counselor designation.
Perry lives in Scarborough. The FIC title is an educational designation that can be earned by career life insurance representatives associated with fraternal insurance societies.
Carmen Fortin, a registered nurse clinical educator at Central Maine Medical Center, was presented the Maine Emergency Nurses Association Special Merit Award for her work on behalf of the professional organization.
Fortin, of Harpswell, has been an active member of the Maine Emergency Nurses Association for more than 30 years and serves as chair of the organization’s Pediatric Committee.
She has some 35 years’ experience as a practicing emergency nurse.
