The Knicks’ offensive output is easily the highest the Red Claws have allowed all season.
Jordan Bachynski went 14 of 14 from the field and finished with 31 points to lead the Westchester Knicks to a 127-108 victory over the Maine Red Claws in an NBA D-League game Friday night before a crowd of 2,101 at the Portland Expo.
A 7-foot-2 center from Arizona State, Bachynski missed only from the free-throw line, where he was 3 of 6. He also had seven rebounds for the first-place Knicks (10-3), who took a double-digit lead late in the second quarter and stretched it to as many 31 points early in the fourth.
He wasn’t the only hot-shooting Knick.
Teammate Thanasis Antetokounmpo shot 10 of 12 from the floor and scored 26 points. Jimmer Fredette added 21.
The Red Claws actually held a four-point lead at the end of the first quarter, but went cold, shooting only 31.8 percent from the field in the second quarter and falling further and further behind.
Westchester took control with a 23-5 run in the span of 5:17 in the second quarter, opening up a 13-point advantage.
The 127 points were the most by any Red Claws opponent this season, easily surpassing the previous high of 111 by Sioux Falls.
Omari Johnson led the Red Claws (6-6) with 19 points and eight rebounds.
Boston Celtics rookie Jordan Mickey had 15 points and 11 rebounds.
