Lake Region faced a tough autumn in 2015, but good news did come on the field hockey front: Pauline Webb’s girls went 9-5 through the regular season to enter the B South playoffs ranked fifth; they even earned a bye through the prelims. In the quarters, though, the Lady Lakers fell 8-0 to No. 4 Kennebunk.

Likewise, girls soccer turned in a solid 7-7 regular season and earned the tournament 10-seed. Peter Webb’s squad then upset No. 7 Leavitt 4-2 in the prelims. In the quarters, however, they drew No. 2 York, who emerged victorious from the battle, 2-0.

Boys soccer never found a groove, going 0-14 in the regular season and finishing outside the playoffs, in last place. Head coach Mike Chaine did express optimism about the program’s future, though.

Brian Jahna’s football boys struggled through much of the season, but did pick up a meaningful win in Week 7, versus visiting Freeport.

Ryan Shibles’s volleyballers snuck into the playoffs at 3-11, but at No. 8 drew No. 1 Calais in the first round, and bounced out three sets to none.
