
He was born July 17, 1930, in Biddeford, a son of Anselme and Azilda (Picard) Paquin.
He was educated locally and attended St. Louis High School. He served in the U.S. Navy.
Emilien worked as a barber most of his working life. Starting at Cooks Corner in Brunswick, he then worked at Esquire Barber Shop in Saco. For many years he owned and worked at the S & R Barber Shop in Old Orchard Beach, retiring in 2010.
He enjoyed bowling, crafts, cribbage, and driving his red 2002 Mustang convertible. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 804, in Biddeford and had served as president in the 1960s.
Emilien was preceded in death by: two sons, Conrad in 1952, and Raymond in 2011; brothers, Gerard, and Henry Paquin; and sisters, Jeannette Bergeron, and Juliette Fecteau.
He is survived by: four daughters, Angela Messer of Farmington, Lucille Beaupre and her husband Michael of Biddeford, Diane Harden of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Denise Goodrich and husband Michael of Waterboro; six sons, Leon Paquin of Biddeford, Paul Paquin of Saco, Michael Paquin and his wife Donna of Biddeford, Richard Paquin of Biddeford, Daniel Paquin and his wife Kristine of Saco, and Normand Paquin of Ogunquit; 17 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
There will be no visiting hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 20 at St. Margaret’s Church in Old Orchard Beach.
