
Timothy attended Wells High School and St. Francis College in Biddeford. He worked for the State of Maine and the Biddeford School Department.
He is remembered for his love of cats and for being a craftsman, his family often referring to him as “MacGyver.” He enjoyed working on house and car projects in his spare time.
Timothy is survived and sadly missed by: his wife, Kelley Meehan Byrnes, with whom he enjoyed 36 years of life; daughters, Hannah and Tessa Byrnes; and grandson, Tristen Aloysius. He will be remembered by them as a devoted, loving husband and fantastic father who loved his children and grandson dearly.
Timothy is also survived by: his sisters, Geraldine Johnson of Rhode Island, Terrie Thomas of Florida, and Colleen Day of Texas; and several nieces and nephews who fondly remember him as being a wonderful man who had a great love of life.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William Frederick Byrnes and Geraldine Mary Byrnes; and his brothers, William and Dennis Byrnes.
Visiting hours will be 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 5 at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005.
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 6 at Hope Memorial Chapel. Burial will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Saco at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, people are encouraged to make gifts in Timothy’s memory to the Animal Welfare Society of West Kennebunk in honor of Joe, his late four-legged son, at: Animal Welfare Society, ATTN: Development Office, P.O. Box 43, West Kennebunk, ME 04094.
