WELLS — On Nov. 1, 2015, Katherine M. Cousens, age 98, of Wells, entered into eternal life through her Lord Jesus Christ. She was reunited with her former husbands, George E. Buckley and Charles M. Cousens, as well as her beloved granddaughter, Rebecca Cousens.
Kay was born to Walter and Alice Devine in Tilton, New Hampshire on June 15, 1917. She attended schools there, graduating from Tilton School in 1934.
She and her first husband, George Buckley, moved to Wells in 1952. Both of them received Jesus Christ as their Savior in 1954 and were members of High Pine Baptist Church for 16 years.
After George’s death in 1970, she became a member of Wells Branch Baptist Church. There she met and married Charles M. Cousens and they served the Lord there for many years. Charles went to be with the Lord in 1994.
Kay is survived by: her half-sisters, Madalene Ryder, and Thelma Haley; two daughters, Brenda (Gary) Wiecek, and Susan (Gary) Dean; two stepdaughters, Mary (Paul, deceased) Bramhall, and Eleanor (Douglass) Nason; one stepson, Charles (Barbara) Cousens; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?”
