Cape Elizabeth

Cape Elizabeth voters returned incumbent Jessica Sullivan to the Town Council on Tuesday, and elected Sara Lennon and James Garvin in a seven-way race for three council seats.

Sullivan received 1,372 votes, followed by former councilor Lennon (1,273), Garvin (1,262), Ralph Miller (764), Victoria Volent (596), Imogene Altznauer (486) and Roger Bishop (445). Councilors Jamie Wagner and James Walsh didn’t seek re-election to three-year terms.

On the School Board, Heather Altenburg, former board member Elizabeth Scifres and John Voltz won a four-way race for three seats. Altenburg received 1,618 votes, followed by Scifres (1,594), Voltz (1,306) and William Gross (1,240).

Current board members John Christie III, David Hillman and Mary Williams-Hewitt didn’t seek re-election.

Town Clerk Debra Lane said Thursday that voter turnout was about 33 percent, with 2,598 of 7,750 registered voters casting ballots.
