I want to write in order to toss support behind a candidate that I feel deserves such treatment. I feel Dan Parenteau is worth my time, effort and energy to write about.

I’ve recently switched from Democrat to Libertarian affiliation, as I feel the Libertarian party offers me a greater scope on what I consider to be important in politics. I enjoy the social liberalism with the fiscal conservation and that is the type of candidate that I want to put into the mayor’s seat. I’ve come to the realization that I will never find another candidate that I agree with 100 percent of the time, but it’s more important for me to vote on objectivity and facts, as opposed to delusions and what I want to be, as opposed to what is. Dan Parenteau is that type of candidate.

Undoubtedly the events of the summer will play an integral role in this election. Many of your candidates were not there when a young man from Biddeford showed up to gain closure from his past so he and others like him could move forward with their lives.

This election should not come down to this one issue, but you cannot downplay the importance of Matt Lauzon’s struggle, either. Dan Parenteau was there, doing what he did best, listening and guiding, like a loving parent. He took in all the facts and made a decision based on the evidence. This is a true candidate and all around outstanding human being.

I’m not a fan of most politicians, in fact, I’m downright cynical of them. Dan Parenteau is one of the few I feel I can trust and am very happy to throw my words behind him and lend whatever support I can to getting him elected.

Dan Parenteau cuts right to the chase, and I appreciate someone that can give it to me straight without the rhetoric, or trying to score political points with me. He doesn’t insult your intelligence, he is an everyman. Dan also cares, which a rarity, in this world. He is a bonfire on a blustery fall night, he is the rallying cry at the Tigers’ game, he is a grandparent’s embrace during Christmas and most of all, and he is a neighbor to everyone in Biddeford.

Please consider casting your vote for Dan Parenteau Nov. 3.
