With a major change in city administration, this is a critical time for the City of Saco. The prosperity, goals, organization and business relationships established over the last years need to be continued to ensure a prosperous future. In my opinion, there is no better candidate for Mayor than Ron Michaud.

The new City Administrator will lean heavily on the experience and guidance of the Council and the Mayor for a smooth transition and to work towards the completion of existing City goals. Ron has more than 20 years of experience leading the City of Saco. As a councilor and mayor he helped create the city’s goals and map out the road that has led to Saco’s successes.

His experience over the last 2 decades allows him to “hit the ground running.” He is familiar with all City issues, priorities and key personnel involved. School budgets, tax rates, community services, and other City responsibilities are all part of his experience on day one. He actively contributed to all City considerations, debates, hearings and public meeting as a Councilman, worked policy issues as a Mayor and understands the Mayor’s role and responsibilities.

Over his many terms, Ron has demonstrated an open-minded, logical, careful approach to issues exploring alternate possibilities and garnering advice prior to recommending a plan of action. He has always worked collaboratively with the city council, the local business community, county, state and federal government representatives and, most importantly, with members of our community.

In this time of transition and growth, a steady, reasonable hand is required. I believe the best man for the job is Ron Michaud.
