Jennifer Banks
wins photo contest
A Gorham woman, Jennifer Banks, is the winner of a photo contest sponsored by the Fresh Air Fund that supplies free summer vacations to city children.
Banks’ photo was named the winner in the portrait category, and “features Fresh Air visitor 7-year old Frank Zheng of Brooklyn smiling brightly at the camera while relaxing in a tree in Maine,” the organization reported. Zheng spent a week with the Banks family in Gorham.
Winners in the photo contest were selected from the hundreds of pictures sent in by volunteer host families across the Northeast, reflecting the memorable experiences they shared with their New York City visitors this past summer.
The Fresh Air Fund, an independent, not-for-profit agency, has provided free summer experiences to more than 1.8 million New York City children from low-income communities since 1877. For more information on hosting a Fresh Air child next summer, contact Andrea Corbett at 730-1503 or visit www.freshair.org.
