Local competitive skaters will hold an exhibition at University of Southern Maine Ice Arena in Gorham on Friday, Oct. 9, at 7 p.m. Among the skaters will be several from Scarborough – Eden Larsen, 14, Kaitlin Malayev, 16, Victoria Malayev, 14, and Morgan Sewell, 18.
All of the skaters belong to the North Atlantic Figure Skating Club and the routines they will show off are the same numbers they will compete with during the upcoming New England Regional Figure Skating Championships, being held in Boxborough, Mass.
Regionals is the qualifying event for the U.S. Figure Skating Championships, which will be held in St. Paul, Minn. in 2016. Several of the local skaters will be making their debut at Regionals, including the Malayev sisters.
