Richards on president’s list

Amber Louise Richards of Buxton was named to the president’s list for the spring semester at Pensacola Christian College in Pensacola, Fla. Richards is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Richards.

Health center fundraiser a success

Leavitt’s Mill Free Health Center, 63 Main St., Buxton, in September held its 13th annual golf tournament Dutch Elm Golf Course in Arundel and the fundraiser was another success.

Funds raised are used to provide direct patient care and help the health center meet its mission: To improve the health of the community by providing free healthcare services to persons who have no insurance or inadequate insurance and by sponsoring health promotion activities for the entire community.

Saco River Art League in Buxton is sponsoring its seventh two-day, annual show and sale of art and crafts on Saturday, Oct. 3, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., and Sunday, Oct. 4, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., at the Marrett House, 40 Ossipee Trail (Route 25), Standish. Items include baked goods, children’s creativity table, artists at work, music and games. Sales benefit Marrett House/Historic New England, CHARM, area artists and artisans Free admission and free Marrett House tours.Courtesy photo
