BIDDEFORD — Murielle T. Roy, 85, of Biddeford, died Sunday, Sept. 27, 2015 at the Gosnell Hospice House in Scarborough after a long illness.

She was born in Lewiston on March 11, 1930, the daughter of Odias and Almoza Champagne Villeneuve, and was educated in Canadian schools.

Mrs. Roy came to the local area in 1947. On May 26, 1950, she married Dorilas F. Roy in St. Andre’s Church in Biddeford. He died on Feb. 16, 2012.

Murielle worked four years with the Pepperell Mfg. Co. in Biddeford, 12 years with Herman’s Shoe in Scarborough and then worked 10 years with John Roberts in Biddeford, retiring in 1994.

She is preceded in death by: a son, Normand E. Roy; a daughter, Monique C. Dube; two brothers, Fernand Villeneuve, and Guy Villeneuve; and a sister, Rollande Villeneuve.

She is survived by: a son, Marcel Y. Roy and his wife Christine of Kennebunk; three daughters, Helene G. Hallczuk and her husband Michael of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Claire I. Wyman and her husband John of Biddeford, and Therese J. Acord and her husband Christopher of Richmond; two sisters, Simonne Paquette of California, and Candide Brochu of Biddeford; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be 4- 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 1 at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon on Friday, Oct. 2 at St. Joseph Church in Biddeford. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Biddeford.
