NEW HIRES
Cait Vaughan joined Portland-based Hope Acts as the organization’s new immigrant support program coordinator.
Vaughan, of Portland, was previously a senior coordinator at the Council on International Educational Exchange and a support staff member at Preble Street.
She currently serves as a community organizer at the Southern Maine Workers’ Center, a position she will continue concurrently with her part-time position at Hope Acts.
Travis Dunbar joined Spurwink as associate program director of education for its Casco Program.
Dunbar was previously the lead teacher of the Day Treatment Program at Lewiston Middle School. He recently earned a master of education degree.
John Crane was hired as the general manager of the Portland Food Co-op.
Crane brings more than nine years of managerial experience in retail food cooperatives. He previously worked for Rising Tide Community Market in Damariscotta.
Baker Newman Noyes in Portland added the following people to its staff.
Ryan Dubois, of Lewiston, joined its audit practice. He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a master’s degree in business administration from Thomas College.
Elaine Levasseur, of Dayton, was hired as a finance coordinator in the operations department.
Mike Meserve, of Kennebunkport, joined as an audit senior. Meserve focuses on serving the banking industry.
Anne-Marie Palmer was hired as an administrative assistant in the operations department.
Zachary Porter, of Scarborough, was hired as a staff member in the risk and business advisory practice. Porter is a University of Maine graduate.
Casey Pyburn, of Wells, was hired as a helpdesk analyst in the operations department. Pyburn is a graduate of York County Community College.
Tom Quentin, of Saco, was hired as a staff member in the audit practice. He is currently working toward his master’s degree in accounting from St. Joseph’s College.
Theresa Seekamp, of Portland, was hired as a file room administrator in the operations department. She attended the University of Southern Maine.
PROMOTIONS
Baker Newman Noyes recently promoted several people in its Portland office.
Kevin Chase, of South Portland, was promoted to manager in the audit practice. He has been with the firm since 2010, having previously interned with the firm’s audit and tax practices in 2009.
Shelley Duplisea, of Wells, was promoted to audit senior. Duplisea joined the firm in 2013, having previously interned with the tax practice.
Michelle Harvey, of South Portland, was promoted to audit senior. Harvey joined the firm in 2013.
Spencer Hathaway, of Windham, was promoted to audit senior. Hathaway joined the firm since 2013, and previously interned with the tax practice.
Nick Norton, of Presque Isle, was promoted to tax senior. Prior to joining BNN in 2013, Norton was an intern in the tax practice.
Chelsea Reynolds, of New Sweden, was promoted to manager in the audit practice. Reynolds joined the firm in 2009 and specializes in serving clients in the health care and manufacturing industries.
J. Morgan Smith, CPA, of Portland, was promoted to manager in the audit practice. Smith specializes in the commercial and manufacturing industries. Smith volunteers for the United Way of Greater Portland and Florence House.
Spurwink has promoted Gabrielle Gallucci to director of mission impact at Spurwink.
She has over 20 years of program and development experience.
Gorham Savings Bank announced the promotions of Julie Brooks, Kevin Heatley, Lisa Hughes, Matt Palmer, Sue Strout and Julia Hubbard.
Brooks, of Windham, was named senior vice president, senior risk officer. Brooks joined Gorham Savings Bank in 2011 and has been in banking for more than 25 years.
Heatley, of Windham, is a senior vice president, director of technology. Heatley started his career with Gorham Savings Bank in 1999 and has more than 21 years of experience in information technology.
Hughes, of Cornish, was named vice president, regional business banking officer. Hughes has been in banking for 18 years, the last seven in business banking.
Palmer, of Gorham, was named vice president, credit administration and collections manager. Palmer, previously assistant vice president, senior credit analyst, has been in banking for 17 years, most recently with TD Bank.
Strout, of Kennebunkport, was named vice president, senior regional retail manager. Strout started her career with Gorham Savings Bank in 2010 as a business development officer. Most recently, she was the regional banking center manager in Portland.
Hubbard, of Gorham, was promoted to assistant vice president, payroll and benefits. Hubbard joined Gorham Savings Bank in 2007 and has more than 22 years of experience in human resources.
AWARDS and RECOGNITIONS
The Maine Health Science Libraries and Information Consortium announced that Susan A. Bloomfield has won its 2015 Eleanor C. Cairns Distinguished Librarian award.
Bloomfield is a medical librarian at Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford.
RETIRING
The Maine Real Estate & Development Association recently recognized two retiring board members.
Jaimie Schwartz, of Bernstein Shur, served as a contributing member of the MEREDA Board for the past 13 years.
Drew Sigfridson, of CBRE | The Boulos Co., retired from board after 12 years of service. Sigfridson served as president from 2012 to 2014.
