Rotarians hear Thomas

Elias Thomas, who has been active in Rotary since 1978, spoke about his 15 Rotary polio-plus missions to India at the Westbrook-Gorham Rotary Club on Sept. 1.

On Feb. 21 this year, Thomas along with many other Rotarians from countries from around the world, in one day immunized close to 200 million children against polio, the local club reported.

This is only one of the many humanitarian projects performed each year by Rotarians. “It’s all about giving back – to the communities in which we live, as well as to the communities we may never see, but which need our support,” Thomas said.
