From 1-6p.m. Aug. 29, Evelyn Dunphy Studio is donating 15 percent of all sales before expenses to benefit the Backpack Program, a program that provides foodinsecure school children with food to last them through the weekends. Evelyn Dunphy Studio is located at 596 Foster Point Road, West Bath.
Last year, the studio was able to send a check for almost $2,000 to the program. The public is welcome to visit the studio and help support this program for Maine children.
Janet Mills, Attorney General of Maine and a supporter of the Backpack program, will be at the event. Additionally there will be a representative from Mid Coast Hunger Prevention program who can answer visitors’ questions. Visitors will be able to see a sample of what is included in a typical backpack that a food-insecure child takes home from school on Friday to get them through the weekend.
Evelyn Dunphy’s paintings have been included in the World of Watercolour Competiton, the National Arts Club of New York, Salmagundi Club, New York, Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour, Adirondack Exhibition of American Watercolors and many other national and international exhibitions.
