“WINTER TREES” BY SHIRLEY LEWIS

ORR’S ISLAND — Sebascodegan Gallery artists invite the public to a reception for the August Show from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, August 9. The gallery is located at 4 Old Orr’s Island Rd. off Harpswell Islands Rd. Rt 24, 7.5 miles from Cooks Corner. The gallery is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Labor Day. 20 traditional and contemporary artists working in paint, sculpture, glass and photography will desplay their work. During the reception, Shirley Lewis will give a talk about encaustic painting. Lewis lives in Bath and paints in oils and encaustics. Her special interest is in the world around her — both land and sea. Lewis particularly enjoys working in a small format, and is a member of: Cider painters of America, Sustaining Associate Member Miniature Artists of America, Charter member, National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C., and the Mid- Maine Art Guild. Her work will be on display in the gallery through September 7.
