WOOLWICH — Two Lewiston residents were taken to Central Maine Medical Center with injuries that didn’t appear to be life threatening Saturday afternoon after they were ejected from a motorcycle on Gilman Hill Road in Woolwich.
The crash was reported shortly before 5 p.m. Saturday. Lt. Scott Stewart with the Sagadahoc County Sheriff ’s Department said a 2013 Victory motorcycle driven by Douglas Conant, 47, of Lewiston left the road and crashed into a ditch after the accelerator reportedly stuck. Conant and passenger Naomi Conant, 47 and also of Lewiston, were both ejected from the motorcycle. Stewart said neither were wearing helmets.
Stewart said both driver and passenger were taken to CMMC in Lewiston — Douglas Conant by North East Mobile Health Service and Naomi Conant was airlifted by LifeFlight. A spokesman for CMMC said Monday afternoon that the two were not listed as patients at the hospital.
