BIDDEFORD — Marcel P. Gaudette, 78, of Biddeford died Thursday, July 30, 2015 at Southern Maine Medical center after a short illness.
He was born in Auburn on Jan. 30, 1937, the son of Joseph and Bertha Parent Gaudette. He was educated in Scarborough and Biddeford schools, graduating from Biddeford High School with the class of 1955. He graduated from Hanson School of Barbering in Lewiston in 1956.
On June 23, 1956 he married Madeleine Lamirande in St. Andre’s Church in Biddeford.
Mr. Gaudette worked 15 years with Feeney’s Barber Shop in North Deering in Portland. He later worked 12 years with the Journal Tribune, retiring in 1985 due to ill health. In 1987 he and his wife retired to Orlando, Florida for nine years, returning back to Biddeford in 1996.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Madeleine L. Gaudette of Biddeford, two sons, Steven Gaudette and his wife Kathy of Biddeford and Kevin Gaudette and his wife Debbie of Falmouth, two daughters, Nancy Gaudette of Saco and Karen Gaudette of Saco, one grandson, Justin Lamb, four granddaughters, Vanessa Lamy, Katelyn Gaudette, Cassidy Gaudette and Brenna Gaudette, and several nieces and nephews.
There are no services planned. Private inurnment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Saco. Arrangements are by Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford.
