BATH — Aquaculture growers are encouraged to attend a local meeting hosted by the USDA, Farm Service Agency to discuss important program changes made by the 2014 Farm Bill.

The meeting will be held 10:30 a.m. Aug. 12 at the Patten Free Library Community Room, 33 Summer Street, Bath. Meeting attendees will learn about changes to the Non-Insured Crop Disaster Assistance Program (NAP) including the new buy-up provisions as well as changes to our Farm Loan Programs (Farm Ownership, Operating, Emergency and Youth Loans).

Other meetings on the topic will take place 2:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24 at Hancock County Cooperative Extension in Ellsworth, and 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27 at the Cumberland/York USDA Service Center in Scarborough.
