PORTLAND — The public is invited to testify Thursday, July 30, when the National Commission on Hunger meets at the University of Southern Maine.
Among those addressing the 10-member commission appointed by Congress will be Mayor Michael Brennan, state Department of Health & Human Services Commissioner Mary Mayhew, state Sen. Justin Alfond, D-Portland, Good Shepherd Food Bank President Kristen Miale, and Preble Street Chief Program Officer Donna Yellen.
Invited speakers will address the commission from 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. The public is invited to speak from 2-4 p.m. Speakers can sign up at the hearing, or online at hungercommission.rti.org.
The hearing will be held at the USM Wishcamper Center in Lee Community Hall at 34 Bedford St.
