A South Portland woman was killed following a motorcycle crash on Pride Street Saturday night.

35-year-old Jennifer Lavigne was a passenger on the motorcycle driven by 37-year-old Brenton Blais, of Old Orchard Beach. A Westbrook Police Department press release said both alcohol and speed were factors in the crash. Neither Lavigne nor Blais were wearing helmets.

Westbrook Fire Rescue and police responded to the crash in the vicinity of 290 Pride St. at roughly 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

According to the release, Blais also sustained serious injuries, and underwent surgery at Maine Medical Center.

Members of the Westbrook and Windham police departments have specialists reconstructing the collision, and will continue to investigate the circumstances of the collision to determine if there is probable cause for charges.
