Beatles For Sale, the hugely popular Beatles tribute band from Massachusetts, is returning to the Orion Performing Arts Center on Friday, Nov. 6. The show is the only Maine performance by the group this year, and they will play all different songs than at last year’s show.
Beatles For Sale is an award-winning tribute band committed to re-creating the sounds of the Beatles live, in concert. Tickets are now on sale for $17 in advance, available at Michaud’s Market, Main St., Topsham; The Music Center, Tontine Mall, Brunswick; the SAD #75 District Office, Republic Ave., Topsham; and online at http://beatlesforsaleatorion. bpt.me.
At the door, tickets will be $20 for adults and $18 for students under 21. The show is generously sponsored by Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott in Brunswick, where band members will be staying. Audience members can get a room discount that weekend by mentioning the show. Beatles For Sale is a fundraiser for the Capital Fund of the Orion PAC to help install new curtains and improve the sound and lights. Concessions will be available at intermission.
Beatles For Sale has been entertaining audiences throughout New England since 2007 with a repertoire that consists of more than 150 songsfrom the Beatle catalogue. This band of musicians was drawn together by their love of Beatles music and the desire to keep the music alive, bringing it to a whole new generation of Beatles fans. But don’t expect to see Beatle wigs or Sgt. Pepper suits — Beatles For Sale says the most important thing about the show is the music. What you will see is a fun and energetic performance complete with original instrumentation and vocal harmonies that are as accurate as possible to the original Beatles recordings. There are no “sampling” or “midi tricks” — everything you hear is performed completely live.
