LISBON — The town of Lisbon took home second place for the 2014 American Public Works Association Maine Chapter Public Works Excellence Award Competition for the Androscoggin River Trail Project. The award was presented at the 24th annual Highway Congress held on June 4, 2015 at the Skowhegan State Fairgrounds and is a state-wide competition among public works departments. The town was recognized for the new, 1.75 mile Androscoggin River Trail has both river access and links directly to Lisbon’s existing Papermill Trail as well as connects to Lisbon Village, Lisbon High School and Lisbon Falls downtowns for a total of 3.5 miles of bicycle and pedestrian trails allowing yearround activities from snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, walking and biking.
