Savory Maine in Damariscotta announces its July music series featuring local musicians. Every Tuesday and Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., musicians from around the midcoast will entertain and delight diners at Savory Maine.
On July 2, Kathi Nordone will return. She plays a mix of Folk, Country, Inspirational and Gospel music along with her own compositions.
On July 7, Stan Davis will return. Stan plays and sings a mix of traditional and original songs — from the blues to lyrical hymns about modern country life; from songs about reincarnation to love songs. He weaves storytelling, beautiful intricate guitar playing, and evocative lyrics full of poetic imagery.
On July 9, Sylvia Tavares and Gary McCue will play. Sylvia plays classic folk and original music.
On July 14, Gary McCue will return as a solo performer, and will play predominantly his own compostions. On July 16 Jeff Herbster will return. Jeff is a banjo and fiddle player, not only with Bluegrass, but also with clawhammer/oldtime, and a style from the mid 19th century called Minstrel, using a reproduction banjo from that period.
On July 21, Bob White will return after an absence of several months. He is a songwriter in the style of the late Jim Croce, of the 70s. On July 23, Elizabeth Starr will play. Liz is fluent in folk and Celtic music which she will play in addition to her own songs.
On July 28, several members of the group Miner’s Creek will play, followed on the 30 by the return of Elizabeth Starr.
Savory Maine is located at 11 Water St., Damariscotta. Savory Maine is open daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., serving lunch and dinner. The restaurant sources most of its food from Maine and essentially all of it is organically grown or wild harvested.
