BIDDEFORD — Leopold Nolette, 92, of Biddeford died Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Gosnell Hospice House in Scarborough after a short illness.

He was born in Biddeford on Oct. 23, 1922, the son of Alfred and Eva Bellerose Nolette. He was educated in Biddeford schools.

On Oct. 20, 1943, he married Pauline M. Loranger in St. Joseph Church in Biddeford. She died on June 21, 2012

As a young man, Mr. Nolette worked at the Bates Mfg. Co. in Saco for a few years. He worked at the South Portland Shipyard during World War II as a carpenter. He was then self-employed as a building contractor as Nolette & Son and later co-owned Nolette & Payeur Contractors for several years, retiring in 1987.

He was preceded in death by: a son, Richard D. Nolette in 1982; four sisters, Armande Fortin, Fernande Boucher, Lucille Carrier, and Simone Nolette; and a brother, Conrad Nolette.

He is survived by: a daughter, Connie Rousseau and her husband Marc of Biddeford; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be Wednesday, June 24 from 10-11 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m., at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Biddeford.
