Donald Trump has entered the presidential race and the rest of the Republican party can’t be happy about it.

Trump is obviously a smart guy and a successful businessman ”“ although he had a head start thanks to his father’s success.

But the fact that Trump has finally decided to run for president, after floating the idea of running four other times, means trouble for the rest of the GOP field.

Trump does not have a filter and will take on every other candidate with the gloves off ”“ because let’s face it, he doesn’t need to worry about his “political career.”

Since his announcement on Tuesday, Trump has blasted Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio on several topics and said he is the only one to beat Hillary Clinton in the general election.

Now, I don’t believe Donald Trump is going to be the Republican nominee and he will definitely never be president, but he will make this election season a little more fun.

It seems like the last few times Trump has floated the idea of a presidential run, he was looking for some publicity for the next season of NBC’s “The Apprentice.”

So, the question now is: Why did he decide to actually pull the trigger this time around?

My guess is Trump got caught up in his own narcissistic ways or maybe he just hasn’t received enough attention lately.

I don’t know if the “Apprentice” ratings were dipping recently, but I’m sure Trump is banking on this presidential run to help whenever the show comes back on.

If you looked at “The Donald” in a vacuum, he may seem like an attractive candidate during these tough economic times. But, unfortunately for Trump, you can’t look at him without all of his flaws ”“ and there are quite a few.

Trump, even though known as a great businessman, has seen four of his businesses declare bankruptcy.

He also lost a ton of credibility ”“ at least in this writer’s eyes ”“ during his run as the leader of the “birthers,” who didn’t believe President Obama was born in this country.

Once again, I believe his “fight” to see Obama’s birth certificate was more about publicity for his television show and his own ego than fighting for something he believed in.

The only reason I would ever consider voting for Trump would be if he could use his famous catch phrase on the real problem in Washington.

Hey members of Congress, “you’re fired.”
