No. 9 Gorham traveled to No. 8 Windham for a playoff preliminary game on Tuesday afternoon, and after a tight bout, the Eagles emerged victorious 3-2. Katie Hunter scored Windham’s winning run in the bottom of the sixth.
Gorham’s Julia Gaudette started the game in the circle, but checked out in the fifth. Grace McGouldrick replaced her. Danielle Tardiff pitched a complete game for the Eagles.
The Rams retire for the year at 7-10. Windham, meanwhile, advances to 10-7 and the quarterfinals. The Eagles will face off against almighty Scarborough on Thursday.
