BIDDEFORD — George William Drown, 79, of Stone Street in Biddeford, passed away May 28, 2015 at the Evergreen Manor in Saco.

He was born in Kennebunk on Nov. 5, 1935, the son of George and Edna Wakefield Drown.

He graduated from Kennebunk High School in 1955. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps for eight years and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and American Legion Post #57 of Old Orchard Beach.

George worked as a machinist and also drove a taxi in the Biddeford-Saco area. He enjoyed going to the Portland Sea Dogs with his son, and also being a Red Sox and Patriots fan.

He is survived by: his wife, Leona Jordon Drown of Biddeford; two sons, William Chatman Drown, and Richard Edmund Drown, both of Biddeford; two daughters, Laurel Louise Gouin, and Leona Lucille Boissonnealt of Biddeford; three sisters, Ruth Holland of Sanford, Rose, and Helen Drown of Biddeford; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild, due in July.

Graveside services will be held Friday, June 5 at 11 a.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery in Biddeford.
