SANFORD — Lane Mitchell Phillips, 68, of Alfred Road, died May 13, 2015 at Southern Maine Health Care in Sanford following a brave battle with cancer.

Lane was born June 10, 1946 in Wells, a son of Harold and Dorothy (Arnold) Phillips. He graduated from Wells High School and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Lane attended Plymouth College and worked for Pratt & Whitney for over 30 years.

Lane was an avid NASCAR fan. He also enjoyed gardening, both flowers and vegetables during the summer.

In addition to his parents, Lane was preceded in death by: his brothers, Richard and Ronald Phillips.

He is lovingly remembered by: his daughter, Tracy and her husband Dan Barone of Waxhaw, North Carolina; his brother, Everett Phillips of Lyman; his three grandchildren, Skylar, Jordan, and Zachary Barone; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 20 at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 111 Chapel, Wells, with Rev. Burt Howe. Interment will follow at Ocean View Cemetery in Wells.
