Chad E. Poitras is running unopposed in the municipal election in June for a three-year term on the Board of Selectmen in Buxton.

Poitras, now a Planning Board member, is seeking the expiring term of Penny Booker, the board’s vice chairwoman, who is not seeking re-election.

Three other candidates for boards are also unopposed on the ballot. Incumbent Jean Whitney is seeking re-election as director of Maine School Administrative District 6 for three years. Cynthia Meserve, also a school board incumbent, did not file nomination papers.

John Myers, Buxton town clerk, said Tuesday that “there will be write-in candidates” for the school seats, but a winner could decline to serve.

For three-year Planning Boards seats, Chairman Keith Emery is seeking re-election, along with board member Christopher Baldinelli. Lawrence F. Curtis, Planning Board treasurer, is not running.

The Planning Board has four terms expiring, but only two seats available on the ballot because it is being reduced to a five-member panel from seven to comply with a town charter change approved last year.

There were no nominees for a pair of three-year seats on the Budget Committee.

The deadline was April 27 for filing nomination papers for all elected municipal positions.

The municipal election, which includes local referendums, is set for Tuesday, June 9, in Buxton Town Hall, 185 Portland Road. The annual town meeting to pass a budget will be held on Saturday, June 13.
