OLD ORCHARD BEACH — Joanne M. (Wood) Wynne, 85, of Ocean Park, peacefully passed away April 18, 2015 with her family by her side at Gosnell House after a lengthy illness.
She was born in Saco on February 13, 1930, the daughter of Gertrude and Manley Wood.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family in such varied activities as camping, kayaking, traveling and attending flower shows.
She was an avid animal lover and fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. In her later years she worked for and retired from Southern Maine Health Care.
Joanne was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Raymond; and her brother, Joseph.
She is survived by: her six children, sons Raymond Wynne and his wife Geraldine of Portland, Larry Wynne and his partner Joanne Belanger of Biddeford, and Brian Wynne and his wife Karen of Saco, and daughters, Karen Wynne and her partner Gerry Poisson of Biddeford, Kathy Hall and her husband Graham of Connecticut, and Kim Wynne and her partner Richard Stout of Washington; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Theresa Pinette and Madeline Chicoine; and her cat, Squeaky.
Visiting hours will be from 9-11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 22 with a funeral service at 11 a.m. at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
