Ashley Clark, Lake Region, senior pitcher: Key to Lakers’ marked improvement last year, Clark possesses good change-up to keep hitters off balance.

Brooke Cross, Thornton Academy, senior shortstop: A fiery player and four-year starter, Cross was one of catalysts for Thornton ‘s run to the state title game, batting .420.

Abby Farrin, Lincoln Academy, senior pitcher: Two-time all-KVAC choice went 12-3 with 131 strikeouts last season and is also a cleanup hitter with power.

Laurine German, South Portland, senior shortstop: One of most athletic players in state hits for power (.465, 3 HR, 7 doubles), has dangerous speed on base paths and good range at short.

Ashley Gleason, Scarborough, senior second base: Slick fielder had 47 chances without an error, hit .538, scored 25 runs and was 13 of 13 in steal attempts.

Kayln Grover, Oceanside, junior outfielder: Coming off a season when she hit .444 with 11 RBI, four doubles and two triples, Grover will set the offense for one of top teams in Eastern Class B.

Tess Haller, Cape Elizabeth, junior infielder/catcher: All-Telegram pick as catcher after hitting .460 with five homers and 26 RBI, Haller may switch to second base.

Gabby Harrison, Kennebunk, junior catcher/third base: Good athlete who can make big contributions in the field and with a powerful bat.

Jen Jones, Sanford, junior pitcher: Strong hitter (.449) and three-year varsity player, Jones struck out 140 in 100 innings with a 2.43 ERA as a sophomore.

Kirsten Lebreux, Biddeford, junior pitcher/first: Went 5-3 with a 1.57 ERA and will continue to give the Tigers the SMAA’s top one-two pitching combo with Abbie Paquette.

Kylie Martin, Poland, senior pitcher/outfielder: Headed to Bates College as a pitcher, Martin will share time with senior Kolby Woods and is one of the top hitters on a team with six returning starters.

Maggie Murphy, Scarborough, junior third base: Three-year starter and heady baserunner hit .488 with 23 runs and 13 steals while playing well defensively.

Abbie Paquette, Biddeford, senior pitcher/shortstop: A four-year varsity player, Paquette was a second-team SMAA pick as a pitcher while hitting .383 with 10 extra-base hits.

Maddie Taylor, Wells, senior shortstop: One of the two starters back for the Western Class B champs, Taylor led the Warriors with 33 hits while batting .465 with 23 runs and 21 RBI.

Ally Tillotson, McAuley, sophomore catcher: Second-team SMAA pick as a sophomore, Tillotson has great instincts in the field and a big-time bat (.472 BA, 4 HRs, 6 triples).

Ashley Tinsman, Cape Elizabeth, senior shortstop: Two-time All-Telegram pick who will play at the University of Maine, Tinsman hit .490 with two homers and 20 RBI.

Bailey Tremblay, Thornton Academy, senior pitcher: A four-year starter, Tremblay led Thornton to its first Western Class A title with 16-4 record and 0.98 ERA. She also hit .416.

Liz Walker, Falmouth, senior outfield/first base: All-Telegram choice and WMC Player of the Year, hitting .529 with five homers, five doubles and five triples.

Alyssa Wardwell, Massabesic, senior outfielder: First-team SMAA outfield choice, Wardwell hit .490 with 16 RBI and strong defense.

Taylor Whaley, McAuley, senior pitcher/OF: Second-team SMAA pick as a pitcher (7-4, 2.63 ERA), Whaley hit .534 and also can play multiple positions.

Ashlyn Wintle, Bonny Eagle, junior pitcher/OF: Hit .350 last season with six doubles as a strong-armed right fielder (four assists). Wintle is expected to be a starting pitcher this year.
