Though winter is officially over, the National Weather Service in Gray is forecasting snow for Wednesday evening into the Thursday morning commute.
Eric Sinsabaugh, a meteorologist with the weather service, said the accumulation will likely amount to between 1 and 3 inches over Greater Portland and southern Maine.
The later it starts snowing Wednesday evening the greater the chance it will accumulate as temperatures drop. Even so, Sinsabaugh doesn’t the accumulation to be significant.
“There is still a lot of uncertainty in the forecast and it’s a small, fast moving system,” Sinsabaugh said.
