ALBANY, N.Y. — Alexis Bogdanovich pitched a two-hitter as the University of Maine beat Albany 2-0 in an America East softball game Sunday.

Bogdanovich struck out 10 in her fourth shutout of the season. She did not walk a batter. Bogdanovich is now 7-3 for the Black Bears (12-13, 1-0 in America East).

The Black Bears took a 1-0 lead in the third inning on a solo home run by Erika Leonard. They scored an insurance run in the sixth when Emj Fogel singled, moved to second on a walk and scored on a wild pitch after a sacrifice bunt.

The second game of the scheduled doubleheader was canceled. Maine and Albany (13-8, 0-1) will now close their season series with a doubleheader starting at 11 a.m. Monday.
