Biddeford police have issued an arrest warrant for a man they say stole paintings from Heartwood College of Art at North Dam Mill at 2 Main St. in Biddeford.
Police said they are seeking to arrest Jachin Caron, 25, of Biddeford for the theft of four oil paintings worth about $400 from the art college on March 20.
The department reported its search for Caron on its Facebook page Friday.
“The images of the suspect have been widely distributed and we have received several useful and credible tips from citizens regarding the identity of the suspect. This case serves as a great example of how the community involvement works in assisting law enforcement to apprehend offenders,” the post read.
Police said they did not have a current residence for Caron and asked the public to call them at 282-5127 with any information about the whereabouts of Caron or the stolen items.
