I was amazed at the generosity of our mayor last week. When the city manager announced that he would resign his position, the mayor thought that it would be tough for him to live on his pension after earning a salary in the six figures for the last 10 years.

The mayor then figured that since the economic director was so busy that he could use some help so he created a position for the present city manager to have when we find a new one. In most businesses the boss would tell the busy employee to work harder, smarter, or work more hours.

I hope that when the citizens of Biddeford get to the point where they can no longer pay their property taxes our mayor will find us positions to help us pay, or does that work only for a select few?
