Brad Berube, St. Dominic senior forward: One of the state’s most exciting players. Led the Saints to a second straight state title game, totaling 40 points (16 goals, 24 assists).

Ben Bragg, Scarborough senior goalie: Led the Red Storm to the state Class A championship with stellar postseason play, and a 1.33 goals-against average during the season.

Ben Crichton, Bangor junior defenseman: The Rams employed one of the best defensive systems and Crichton was one of the leaders. He also scored seven goals and added 12 assists.

Brandon Daigle, Biddeford senior goalie: Daigle’s superb play kept the young Tigers in several games. He recorded four shutouts, including a 47-save effort against Falmouth.

Jake Grade, Falmouth senior defenseman: Solid player on both ends of the ice, Grade was the fourth-leading scorer on an offensive team with 28 points (15 goals, 13 assists).

James Kane, Cheverus senior defenseman: Strong defender and puck-handler, Kane helped the Stags to the Western Class A’s No. 2 seed, recording five goals and five assists in 14 games.

Cody Martin, Lawrence/Skowhegan senior forward: Had some of his best games against the strongest teams, leading the Bandits to a No. 4 seed with 61 points (35 goals, 26 assists).

Derek Neal, York senior forward: A dominant player in Class B for years, Neal led York to a No. 3 seed in the West, recording 72 points (45 goals, 27 assists) in 16 games.

Brandon Nale, Messalonskee sophomore defenseman: Began the year on defense and then moved to be dominant on the Class B champion Eagles’ top line, totaling 78 points (37 goals, 41 assists).

Isac Nordstrom, Falmouth senior forward: Missed six games and slowed in others by injury, Nordstrom remained a premium scorer and passer, recording 17 goals and 21 assists.

Dean Pratt, Noble/Wells senior forward: Consistent scorer through the year, Pratt helped the Knights to a No. 3 seed in Western Class A with 66 points (50 goals, 16 assists).

Jeromey Rancourt, Lewiston sophomore forward: The Blue Devils’ best pure scorer, Rancourt helped Lewiston to the Eastern Class A title game. He finished with 18 goals and 12 assists.

COACH OF THE YEAR

Norm Gagne, Scarborough: Gagne’s seventh state championship with his third school (after Gardiner and Waterville) was unexpected as the young Red Storm played a superb defensive system to pull upset after upset as a fourth seed entering the playoffs.
