BIDDEFORD — Anita Gisele Rita Villemaire, 73, of Biddeford died March 14, 2015 at Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford.

She was born to Delphis and Jeannette (Morin) Lizotte on May 10, 1941 in Lewiston. She graduated from Lewiston High School in 1959.

On July 1, 1961 she married Richard Villemaire at St. Mary’s Church in Lewiston. In 1962 they moved to Biddeford.

Anita worked for local shoe shops and factories, including Herman’s Shoe, Nike and Lund. She also worked at White Star Laundry before going to Biddeford High School as second cook in the lunch program. She retired from there in 2010.

When Anita was younger she belonged to the Children of Mary prayer group. She was a longtime volunteer for the La Kermesse Festival, where she enjoyed preparing food for the other volunteers. She also enjoyed talking with her friends at the Biddeford Dunkin’ Donuts coffee group.

She loved all the road trips that she went on with Richard. Some of her favorites were their trips to Florida, New Hampshire, New York and Canada. Anita also enjoyed being on a candlepin women’s bowling league. She loved all the time she got to spend with her grandchildren and being with her family at gatherings.

Anita is survived by: her loving husband of 53 years, Richard Villemaire of Biddeford; two sons, Marcel Villemaire and his fiancée Pam Veilleux of Biddeford, and Daniel Villemaire and his wife Julie of Saco; four grandchildren, Timothy, Andrew, Alysia and Matthew; a great-grandson, Trevor; a sister, Lilliane Deschene of Auburn; and several nieces and nephews

Visiting hours will be 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17 at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 18 at St. Anne’s Chapel of the Good Shepherd Parish in Biddeford.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Anita’s name be made to St. James School, 25 Graham St., Biddeford, ME 04005, or La Kermesse, P.O. Box 289, Biddeford, ME 04005.
