He graduated from Morse High School in Bath in 1959 and proudly attended many of his class reunions. He worked at Roger’s Jewelry Store in Bath until he went into the United States Navy in 1964.
After his discharge from the Navy in 1967, he was employed in a civil service position at Brunswick Naval Air Station and later at Stone and Webster Engineering Co. at Maine Yankee Atomic Power Plant in Wiscasset, Maine. In 1973, he moved to Florida where he was the supervisor at Tampa General Hospital, in the Computer Operations Department, until his retirement.
David loved sending out his yearly Christmas cards, especially to his friends in Maine. He also was a loyal fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Russell C. Watts.
He is survived by two children, Kathy E. Watts of Bath, Maine and Stephen F. Watts of Freeport, Maine; he also leaves behind two granddaughters, Lindsay M. Watts of West Bath, Maine and Meghan E. Watts of Woolwich, Maine; niece, Amy Simkins of San Francisco, CA; the mother of his children, Marie Mann of Bath, Maine; and his best friend of many years, James Lewis of Tampa, Fla.
A graveside service will be held in May of 2015 at a time and date to be announced.
