Topsham Public Library is offering some incredible programs throughout the year that are fun for kids, teens and families. Here are the events happening throughout the month of March at the TPL:
Family Movie Night: “Big Hero 6”
5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 3
Meet Baymax, a lovable, personal companion robot, who forms a special bond with robotics prodigy Hiro Hamada. When a dangerous plot unfolds in the streets of San Fransokyo, Hiro turns to Baymax and his diverse group of friends who transform into a band of unlikely heroes. Featuring comicbook style action and hilarious, unforgettable characters,
Big Hero 6 is fun for the whole family. Rated PG.
Teen Talk
5-7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 12
Join Cyndi for book discussions and pizza. This month’s meeting will compare the movie “The Giver” to the book by Lois Lowry. Stop by the library anytime to pick up a book and register for this program, or email cyndi@topshamlibrary.org.
Maine Family Booknic
10-11a.m. Friday, March 13
Help Topsham Public Library celebrate National Nutrition Month. The library will have fun food activities for babies, toddlers and preschoolers as well as opportunities to share information about healthy eating, family meals and food challenges such as picky eaters.
Teen Craft
1 p.m. Friday, March 13
Watercolor and plastic art, no registration required. Materials will be provided. Ages 11-18 only.
Art Lab
2 p.m. Friday, March 13
Experiment with different tools and techniques to create unique works of art. Exercises taken from the book “Art Lab for Kids” will encourage kids to explore mixed media and their own creativity. Materials will be provided. Art lab facilitated by Mariah. Ages 6 – 13. Registration Required.
March Mallow Event
1 p.m. Friday, March 20
Test your engineering and architecture skills with marshmallows. Ages 4 and up. Registration Required.
Library Legos
2-4 p.m. Friday, March 20 & 1-3 p.m. Saturday, March 28
Come build with the TPL’s extensive Lego collection. Regular Legos are open to children ages 7-13, large Duplo blocks will be available in the children’s area for younger kids.
