HALLOWELL

“Young at Art,” the Harlow Gallery’s annual exhibition of children’s artwork, will be on view Saturday, Feb. 28, through Saturday, March 21, at 160 Water St. in Hallowell. An opening reception will take place between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28.

Each year since 2003, the gallery has invited art teachers from elementary and middle schools throughout the greater Augusta area to select their best student art to be featured in this community-wide celebration of talented young artists. This is the twelfth consecutive year that area students in grades Kindergarten through 8th Grade will have their work featured in the professional setting of the Harlow Gallery.

The exhibition is free and open to the public. Hours at the Harlow Gallery are Wednesday to Saturday, noon to 6 p.m.

Please join Harlow Gallery staff and central Maine art teachers in celebrating the youngest artists in our community during the opening reception. Families with children are especially encouraged to attend, but artists and their families and friends are requested to attend according to the following schedule to avoid overcrowding: 10 a.m. to noon: artists in kindergarten, 1st & 2nd grade Noon to 2 p.m.: artists in 3rd, 4th & 5th grade 2 to 4 p.m.: artists in 6th, 7th & 8th grades
