Saco Food Pantry says ”˜thank you’
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow! The late lyricist Sammy Cahn and the composer Jule Styne have now seen their song written in 1945 match the weather of January and February affording me a way to paraphrase and say thank you at the same time.
The opening line: Oh the weather outside is frightful, tells you that you better stay where it’s warm. But the warmth we felt, in January, was not from the delightful fire mentioned in the second line, but from the hearts and supportive hands that reached out to the food pantry. Hands belonging to people such as: Mary Antonowicz, Joy Elsner, Grace Lashua, Tom and Toby Cone, Altrusa Club of Biddeford-Saco, Cricket Music LLC, Maurice and Toni Maloney, Ron and Rachel Bolduc, Brian and Susan Haley, Michael and Carol Ehman, Travis and Lynn Lynn, Sue Hillman and Bev Haid, Patricia Goldrup, Roy and Maryllyn Fairfield, Saco & Biddeford Savings Institution Charitable Foundation, Haley’s Metal Shop, INC., Gorham Insurance, Joan Emerson, Ann Marie Kenney, Douglas Baggs, Lucille Reed, Joseph and Doris Buonomo, Dorothy Jerry, Al and Bernadette Coulombe, Leeward Landing, Billowhouse LLC, Kevin and Aline Jacques, Knights of Columbus, Rita Shaw, Saco Book Discussion Group, Marc and Annette Cardullo, Germaine Dumas, Wardwell Home for the Aging, INC., E & I Union, Rotary Club of Biddeford-Saco, Gartland Distributors. We thank all at our houses of Worship: Trinity Episcopal, First Parish and North Saco Congregational, Cornerstone Methodist, Bible and United Baptist, Most Holy Trinity, St. Demetrious and St. Augustine Churches. Received also were In-Honor-Of-Donations: Nan Cone and Family, Mary Rose Martineau, Peter Mourmouras, Allan Brown, Rene Menard, Will Armstrong. So they are not forgotten others have freely donated in-memory-of-donations: Priscilla Knight, Shirley Baggs, and Lizzie Griffin.
To each here mentioned and to those standing in the shadows, on behalf of all the volunteers who act in your stead, the 652 clients who benefit from your warm hearts and extended hands I can only say thank you and God Bless.
