DAYTON — Terry James Critchley, 71, of Hollis Road, passed away Feb. 3, 2015 at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

He was born in Biddeford on Nov. 28, 1943, the son of Kenneth and Dorothy Hood Critchley.

He attended local schools and graduated from Thornton Academy in 1961.

Terry attended Paul Smith College in upper New York State.

He returned to the area working for several years for local dairies, primarily for Cole Farm Dairy of Dayton. As the local dairies closed, he then worked as a bulk milk receiver for Oakhurst Dairy, from which he retired.

He enjoyed gardening, working outside and working for Kate’s Butter.

He is preceded in death by: his parents, his father passing away while serving on the USS Thresher out of the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.

He is survived by: his wife of 46 years, Martha Morgan Critchley of Hollis; a son, Travis James Critchley and his wife Penny of Dayton; a daughter, Jennifer Lynn Richardson and her husband Robert of Arundel; and four grandchildren, Morgan, Erica, Owen and Trey.

A spring service will be held at South Buxton Cemetery (Tory Hill.)
