She was born on Jan. 5, 1934, in Fort Kent, ME, a daughter of Charles and Winnie Marquis LeBlanc. She attended Presque Isle schools and married James Cox in Wolf Creek, KY, on July 1, 1955. After the birth of their son, James Cox Jr., the couple moved many times before settling in the Topsham area where they have called home for over 50 years.
Mrs. Cox had a long career of over 25 years at Healthtex sewing factory in Brunswick Maine, then later working in food services for Bowdoin College. She loved to cook and always looked forward to her summer vacations traveling south with her husband back to his Kentucky roots.
She is predeceased by a brother Lawrence LeBlanc.
She is survived by her husband James Cox of Topsham; her son, James Cox Jr. and his wife Sherry of Brunswick; two brothers, Edgar LeBlanc and his wife Marcella of Presque Isle, Gerald LeBlanc and his wife Patty of Presque Isle; a sister Simone Knight of Presque Isle; two grandsons, three great-granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to visit from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015, at Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal St., Brunswick.
