Gorham planners Tuesday?, in a 5-0 vote?, granted final approval for a 10-lot housing proposal off Longfellow Road, but the site is in two communities and also requires Westbrook approval.
Westbrook Planning Board Chairman Edward Reidman, Vice Chairman Rene Daniel and committee member Dennis Isherwood attended Tuesday’s joint meeting in Gorham. But the Westbrook vote was delayed because the panel did not have a required quorum in the meeting.
Natalie Burns, lawyer for both ?the ?Westbrook and Gorham boards, said Westbrook would hold a subsequent meeting for a vote.
Normand Berube Builders Inc. proposed the project, Longfellow Woods, on 21.83 acres.“It’s a pretty densely wooded site,” said Steve Blake of BH2M, the agent representing Berube.
Most of the site is in Gorham?, with a small portion in Westbrook that will not have a structure on it. Gorham Zoning Administrator David Galbraith said the development would be served by public water, but will have private septic systems.
A question about the ?width of the interior road through the development caused about a 30-minute delay during Tuesday’s meeting. Gorham Planning Board member Thomas Hughes noticed the road width was listed as 20 feet on the ?plans?, but wanted a 22-foot width curb to curb.
Galbraith left the chambers to track down earlier information showing plans had called for a 22-foot width when the project was granted preliminary approval by Gorham on Dec. 15. Planners are requiring plans be modified to comply.
