The Sagadahoc History and Genealogy Room announces its eleventh annual Town History Series, jointly sponsored by the Patten Free Library and the Bath Historical Society. The series takes place on five Saturday mornings in January and February, from 10:30- 11:30 a.m. The presentation scheduled for Feb. 14 is about Bath.
Presented by Charles Burden, “A History of Bath Newspapers: Loving the Daily Bath Times” is a thorough history of all of Bath’s many newspapers, which date back into early 19th century. His principal focus will be on his beloved Bath Daily Times, which existed for nearly 100 years before combining with the Brunswick Record to become the Times Record. The history of the Bath Daily Times will include coverage of its many locations in Bath and of significant members of its staff.
The series takes place from 10:30-11:30 a.m. in the Community Room of the Patten Free Library. The events are free and open to the public.
