BIDDEFORD — Jean Roseanna Mooers, formerly of Old Orchard Beach and SouthRidge Living Center, passed away Feb. 6, 2015 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House.
She was born in Biddeford on Dec. 26, 1928, the daughter of Joseph and Lucy Leavitt Perry. She graduated from Thornton Academy.
Jean worked as a secretary for the city of Saco and later for Judge Mewer.
Jean was a former member of the Blue Point Congregational Church and Order of the Eastern Star of Old Orchard Beach.
She enjoyed Sudoku, crossword and jigsaw puzzles.
She is remembered for being kindhearted and a lover of pets, especially cats.
She is survived by: a son Keith Mooers, of Biddeford; a granddaughter, Heather Erin Mooers of Biddeford; a great-grandson Killian Morrison of Biddeford; and two nephews, Charles Chip Deane of Scarborough, and Stephen Bentley of Old Orchard Beach .
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 20 at 11 a.m. at Dunstan Cemetery.
