In 2008, Dawn Clements and Marc Leuthold began a series of works that is being presented at Bates College in a show called “Back and Forth”.
At some distance from one another, each created works of art in their own studios, then sent or delivered them to the other. Clements interpreted works she received from sculptor Leuthold on paper; he sculpted based on her pen and paper works.
Sometimes, new works were created from the collaboration.
The show, which features the works side by side, is being held at the Bates Museum of Art at 75 Russell Street in Lewiston. A lecture and reception will be held on February 6 at 5 p.m.
