She was born in Portland on May 29, 1966, the daughter of Sharon Brawn and the late Teddy McKeen.
Shelly grew up in Freeport and graduated from Freeport High School in 1984.
She went on to work as a C.N.A. at area nursing homes and, most recently, at Mid Coast Hospital.
In recent years, she was happiest being “Meema” to her six grandchildren, Joshua, Cody, Kalob, Landon, Adrian, and her “princess,” Laila.
Shelly was predeceased by her son, Ryan Basinet, and her father, Teddy McKeen.
She is survived by her husband, Dan Milne; his sons, Justin, Josh and Alex; her daughters, Katherine Black and family of Arizona and Courtney Basinet and family of Bowdoinham; her brothers, Jamie Brawn and family of San Diego, Calif., and Stephen McKeen of Texas; her parents, Frank and Sharon Brawn of Freeport; and her “dozens of cousins.”
A celebration of Shelly’s life will be held in the spring.
